The University of Memphis's Asian American Association Memphis (AAA) has partnered with FilAMemphis Tambayans to perform Sayaw Sa Ilaw at the University's The World's A Stage event. Pandanggo Sa Ilaw translates to "Dance of Lights". Originating from Lubang Island, Mindoro Philippines, the playful folk dance is performed during festivities and special occasions. The dancers balance the candles, or oil lamps, on their head and one on each hand which imitates the fireflies at night.
